Bladnoch Distillery is a Single malt Scotch whisky distillery in south west Scotland. located at Bladnoch, near Wigtown, Dumfries and Galloway. The distillery is situated on the banks of the River Bladnoch, and is the most southerly whisky distillery in Scotland .

The distillery was founded by John and Thomas McClelland in 1817 when they were granted a licence to distil whisky on their Bladnoch farm.

Bladnoch Distillery was purchased in July 2015 by Australian entrepreneur David Prior having gone into administration on 10 March 2014. Bladnoch Distillery resumed production in spring of 2017.

Bladnoch Distillery also produces premium blended Scotch Whisky brand, Pure Scot.

I recently visited the distillery, Staff were friendly and eager top help, as it was an hour before i could experiance the tour of the site i had a poke around the vistors centre and cafe where a new mural was being created.

As the new ower is a lover of surfing there was also some custom made surf boards adorning the walls, Made from recycled Bladnoch Whisky casks

And selection of whiskies to choose from in the shop

It was time for my Tour and luckily for me a group booking that was expected to take the tour at the same time were running late which meant my guide Gordon had an audience of one for the tour, Gordon run me through the history of the site and various stages of the process giving me plenty of opportunity to ask questions and more importantly take photos of the empty distillery, before returning to the visitors centre for the tasting. Unfortunately as i was driving i had to take the sample s away with me but not before purchasing a bottle before i left.
