It was an early Start this morning getting up at 05:30 with the plan to climb Arthur’s Seat and photograph the area.

Arriving in Edinburgh, we set off around 7am with it still being dark and headed to our first photo location St Anthony?s Chapel – a 15th century medieval chapel.

With day light now here it was safe to follow the rocky pathways to the summit of Arthur’s seat, a dormant volcano, and sits 251m above sea level.

At the top there are clear panoramic views of the city and for some Hibernian Supporters there is a good view of the home ground Easter Road.

Next was to walk over The Salisbury Crags, i captured this shot on the way down from Arthur’s Seat

Once at the top of the crags the sun broke out for short spell and light up the city, in the shot below you’ll see Edinburgh castle.

And at the highest point we couldn’t resist some selfies with the cityscape behind us.
