Tonight i took a trip to Strathaven to check out the Balloon Festival. The annual festival is an international hot air ballooning event; the only one of its kind in Scotland and one of the largest in the UK.

The purpose of the outing was to capture the evening glow, where the balloonists begin the dramatic display by laying out and inflating their balloons, tethered to 4x4s. The balloon crews then burn, flicker and flash the burners of the tethered balloons, whose enormous envelopes glow, illuminating the night sky.
